Zong Internet Package

Zong began operations in 1991 as Pactel through Cable & Wireless. It was the first company to be granted a free license for cellular phone services in Pakistan. It provided AMPS services until 2004 when the company started GSM services. In 2003, Millicom Corporation purchased Pactel from Cable & Wireless. On January 2007, Millicom International Cellular S.A. sought to sell its stake in Pactel Limited to China Mobile. Sale means price per packet.

In May 2007, Paktel Limited was renamed as China Mobile Pakistan. In May 2007, China Mobile announced that it had increased its stake in CMPak. On 1 April 2008, Pactel was rebranded as Zong.

It offers Zongnet packages which include 2G, 3G and 4G. Zong's most used daily internet packages are as follows:

Daily Basic Internet Package provides its user with 100 MB Internet for a period of 1 day and at a price of just Rs.15 + Tax. The offer can be subscribed by dialing *6464# and to check the remaining data dial *102#, however, the bundle rate is Rs.1 per MB and will be charged on bundle expiry.

Daily Basic Premium Internet Package offers its user with 500 MB Internet for a period of 1 day and at a price of just Rs.25 + Tax and this offer can be subscribed by dialing *6464#. Dial *102# to check remaining data.
